To receive software notifications

Some products installed using Trimble Installation Manager provide notifications when software updates are available. The software notification service is installed on your device along with the Trimble Installation Manager software. The service uses the Windows^® notification area which appears at the far right of the Windows taskbar.

Products that support the software notification service include Penmap, Forensics Capture, Trimble Field Link, Trimble Perspective and the Trimble X7 3D laser scanner firmware.

To run Trimble Installation Manager and install updates, tap the notification message. Alternatively, tap the Show Hidden Icons arrow in the Windows taskbar and then double-tap the Trimble Installation Manager icon.

To manually check for updates, tap the Show Hidden Icons arrow in the Windows taskbar and then tap and hold the Trimble Installation Manager icon and select Check for updates.

To turn off notifications, tap the Show Hidden Icons arrow in the Windows taskbar and then select Customize. Alternatively, from the Windows Control Panel set the Installation Manager Notifier to Hide Icon and Notifications.
