These Release Notes describe the new features and changes available in this release of the Trimble Perspective software.
New hardware support
Trimble X7 scanner support
- Laser Pointer: This release has added support to turn on the X7 laser pointer.
- Precision Point: This allows the user to create an individual point in combination with the laser pointer that is of higher quality than a standard annotation.
- Onboard Diagnostic Report: New settings options allows for generating a diagnostic report for the currently connected X7.
- Field Calibration Report: New settings options allows for generating a calibration report for the currently connected X7.
- Leveling Guidelights: New settings option to use the X7 LEDs to indicate instrument levelness.
- Instrument LEDs: All of the five LEDs at the base of the instrument can be turned off (or on).
- HDR Image Support: We made changing projects during loading available.
New features
- Georeferencing: You can now import a control file and georeference the project by pairing those points with individual precision points or annotations in Perspective.
- Merge Projects: This release of Trimble Perspective adds the ability to merge projects.
- Unlock leveling: A new setting allows you to unlock the leveling of scans during the registration refinement process. In many cases this can improve the results of the registration by accounting for small variations in the leveling compensation. However, this feature is not recommended for long linear projects.
- Project Deletion & Scan Deletion: Projects and scans can be synchronously deleted from both the Perspective application and from the memory card.
- Project Renaming: Projects can be synchronously renamed on the application and on the memory card.
- Project Coordinate System Enhancement: Select whether to work in the (X,Y,Z) or (N,E,El) coordinate system display.
- Measure Enhancements: Results are automatically saved, reloaded (when reloading a project), and exportable into a TDX format file.
- Annotation Enhancements: Annotations and precision points can be created and selected for georeferencing a project.
- Registration Refinement Report: The Registration Report now displays the distance between registered stations as well as the results of georeferencing.
- Notification Enhancements: Notifications are automatically saved, reloaded (when reloading a project), and exportable into a CSV format file.
Resolved issues
- Annotation: We have fixed an issue where the Annotations/Points card would disappear.
- Annotation: We have fixed an issue where Annotations/Points would not sort correctly.
- Application Launch: We have fixed an issue where Trimble Perspective would not restart if launched immediately after closing.
- Application Launch: We have fixed an issue where Trimble Perspective would not open after install.
- Database: We have fixed an issue where the database could be lost during a new install.
- Database: We have fixed an issue where the database could become corrupt after trying to delete a scan.
- Export TDX: We have fixed an issue where a TDX file would not be created if the project name contained emojis.
- Import TDX: We have fixed an issue where importing a TDX should offer N+1 as a starting index.
- Labels: We have fixed an issue that prevented you from being able to add more than one label at a time.
- Projects: We have fixed an issue where you would get the wrong numbering when importing a project.
- Projects: We made changing projects during loading available.
- Registration Refine: We have improved the project refine algorithm. In addition we now inform the user when there are several registration sets and/or unregistered stations when attempting to refine the project registration.
- Registration Refine Report: We have fixed an issue where Save did not support the special character #.
- Synchronization: We have fixed an issue where images would sometimes not be downloaded.
- Synchronization: We have fixed an issue where Trimble Perspective would not synchronize after a scan was downloaded.
- Synchronization: We now disable the synchronization function if the SD card has been removed.
- System Stability: We have fixed an issue where Trimble Perspective would crash when opening an existing project.
- System Stability: We have fixed an issue where Trimble Perspective would shut down when trying to import a TDX file.
- System Stability: We have fixed an issue where Trimble Perspective would crash after deleting a station.
- System Stability: We have fixed an issue where Trimble Perspective would crash after deleting a station.
