The receiver has a wide range of interfacing options. There are a number of adapters and cables available from Trimble that provide most of the common interfacing combinations.

This cable is a RS-232 serial cable used to output base corrections from the receiver to a high-powered base station. It directly interfaces the R980receiver outputs to a high-powered transmit radio or to third-party radios. It powers the receiver from a DC power source. It is also used to output NMEA messages to legacy computer applications.
