Getting started with Trimble SketchUp for SiteVision
Trimble SketchUp Pro (Desktop) has an extension for use with Trimble SiteVision. The extension has been developed to facilitate the automatic placement of 3D models designed in SketchUp alongside a Trimble Site Calibration file. The extension allows a single origin point to be created in relation to a local coordinate system. This helps manage geographic coordinate systems that are not natively managed by Trimble SketchUp.
You can download the Trimble SiteVision AR Exporter for SketchUp in two ways:
-
Directly from the SketchUp Extension Warehouse. You will need to sign in to download the extension.
-
Manually in SketchUp Preferences.
When you download the extension it will be packaged as an .rbz file. To install the extension:
-
Locate the .rbz file on your computer.
-
In SketchUp, select Window / Extension Manager.
-
In the Extension Manager window, click Install Extension.
-
Navigate to the .rbz file saved to your computer, select the file, and click OK (Microsoft Windows) or Open (Mac OS X).
-
SketchUp warns you about installing only extensions from trusted sources; click Yes to install the extension.
Always save your model prior to applying the coordinate offset using the SketchUp plug-in, then Save As after applying the offsets to save the offset model to a different name. Do not overwrite the original SketchUp model.
