Operational safety

SiteVision is frequently used on construction sites and on streets. Make sure you follow the recommended safety procedures for your work environment.

Because it mixes the real and digital worlds, SiteVision can impair the operator’s field of vision and hide obstructions that may cause harm.

  • Use SiteVision in environments where it is safe to do so.

  • Always be aware of your surroundings.

Trimble recommends that before you use SiteVision in the field, you:

  • Plan a path of travel and areas of interest.

  • Identify and either minimize or eliminate potential hazards.

  • Ensure others on site know that the device is in use.

  • Follow all work site health and safety requirements, including personal protection equipment.

Additionally, during use:

  • Remain aware of your surroundings.

  • Keep a note of physical object vs Augmented Objects.

  • Stop and look rather than walk and look.

  • Be aware of machinery, site exclusion zones, site and public vehicles and identified hazards.

A hazard spotter is recommended to watch the user who is operating SiteVision in case of unexpected dangers on the work site.
