Projects, designs, and work orders

All data for the software is stored in a top-level folder called Trimble SCS900 Data on a Windows device and a top-level folder called Data on an Android device:

  • Windows path to project data: C:\Trimble Synchronizer Data\PC\Trimble SCS900 Data\<Project Name>

  • Android path to project data: Internal Storage\TrimbleSync\Siteworks\Data\<Project Name>

Siteworks data is still placed into a folder called “Trimble SCS900 Data” on Windows 10 controllers to maintain backwards compatibility for running both the SCS900 and Siteworks software on the same controller, in addition to preserving the office-to-field workflows through the Trimble Office Synchronizer, the SCS Data Manager, the Trimble Business Center software, and the WorksManager service.

The file folder structure created on the office computer by the Trimble Business Center software exactly mirrors the file folder structure on the controllers, which makes it easy to manage and archive data between the computer and the controllers. Data is organized by project. Within each project, data is divided into designs and work orders.

Keeping data organized in work orders allows for easy import and data management within the Trimble Business Center software. Work orders can be created directly in Siteworks or exported from the Trimble Business Center software. Creating a work order in the Trimble Business Center software allows for the assignment of the necessary design, surface offsets, measurement tolerances, instructions, coverage map grid size, and continuous measurement settings.

Information on a controller is arranged in the following levels:

Level

Description

Global

Global information is used at all sites. It includes geoid files and software information such as the last connected site.

Project

Project information relates to all activities at the specified site. It includes control points, site calibration results, and background maps. Project information is always available.

Design

Inside each project, a main Designs folder holds individual design folders that contain design data pertaining to the project. Design data relates to a particular phase of construction. Data stored at this level includes foreground linework maps, stakeout data, and design surface models.

Work Order

Inside each project, a main Work Orders folder holds individual work order folders. This is where the measured data, and any exported data are stored. And output folder is also present in each individual Work Order folder, where any exported data are placed.
