Map controls

The icons on the right of the main panel enable you to move around the screen and toggle information on and off to improve readability when there is a lot of information shown on the screen. They change depending on what data has been selected to be displayed in the main panel.

Plan View, Cross Section, and Profile view map controls

Description

Center the map on the current location.

Zoom to the extents of the file.

Zoom to a user-defined box (use a stylus or finger to draw a box on the screen).

Zoom in.

Zoom out.

Map Layer Visibility. From version 1.72, this button enters the map layer visibility window where you can search and toggle layers off and on in a window that previews any changes to the visible layers.

View the map display options.

Enables you to customize what is displayed on the map screen. You can choose the information that you want to view for the task rather than cluttering the screen with too much information.

You can also access this option from the Home menu / Settings / Map Display Settings.

Pinch-to-zoom capabilities are present across all panels for plan, 3D, cross section and profile views when using a controller with a touchscreen.

3D Surface Viewer map controls

Description

Center the map on the current location.

3D Orbit by clicking on the map and using the touch screen.

Zoom. To zoom in, click this and swipe up on the touch screen. To zoom out, swipe down on the touch screen.

Toggle on or off the TIN/ surface edges.

Toggle on or off the stakeout flags.

Open the Surface Selection menu to choose which surface to display.

View the map display options.

Enables you to customize what is displayed on the map screen. This will default to the 3D View tab, where you can select a vertical exaggeration for the 3D surface. If you have a point cloud dataset selected, this button enables you to turn off/on individual scans.
