SX12 scanning total station hardware activation

New SX12 instruments must be activated by applying the correct activation code to the instrument in the Virtual Warehouse and then activating the instrument via Trimble Installation Manager.

The activation code is applied to the SX12 instrument in the Virtual Warehouse by your SITECH dealer. The process is similar to applying activation and constellation options to a GNSS receiver.

After applying the activation to the SX12 scanning total station in the Virtual Warehouse, use the Hirose-to-USB cable included with the hardware to connect the SX12 instrument to a PC. Then, run the Trimble Installation Manager (TIM) on the PC to activate and update the instrument firmware. The instrument will not function until the activation is successfully completed by TIM. TIM is also how the instrument firmware is updated when a new firmware version is available.
