Prism support
The SX12 scanning total station is not an active tracking instrument. It does not support “Active Tracking” prism targets with diodes, such as the MT1000 or AT360. It uses cameras to detect the reflection from the prism, rather than infrared diode technology to track only glass prisms and not foil type prisms, like the AT360. The MT1000 can be used as a passive target that the SX12 will follow and track using Autolock, however the channel setting of the prism is ignored. The AT360 will not be followed or tracked and can only be used as a DR type target when manually sighted to. Therefore the AT360 is not recommended for use with the SX12. The recommended prism for use with the SX12 is the standard 360 degree prism.
Acrylic or other reflective foil prisms or stickers are indirectly supported only when using DR mode. Acrylic targets have been removed from the list of available prisms when connected to an SX12 instrument. To shoot an acrylic prism or a foil sticker target, switch to DR mode and manually aim to the center of the target using the video controls. Autolock is not available when using DR mode and therefore not available on acrylic or reflective foil targets. Autolock is only available on targets that have glass prisms in them, like the 360 degree or MT1000.
