SPS356 features

The receiver has the following features:

  • A flexible, modular, DGNSS/Beacon receiver that delivers sub-meter horizontal positioning accuracy for marine and OEM applications

  • Full GNSS single frequency tracking capability, GPS, QZSS and SBAS as standard, Glonass, BeiDou and Galileo as upgrades.

  • Configuration and monitoring interface through the following methods:

    • Web interface

    • Networked or peer-to-peer Ethernet

    • Integrated display and keyboard

  • Front panel display can be inverted for use on cabin wall mounting

  • Blackout mode for night time ship operations (Zero illumination)

  • Browser interface provides remote access over the Internet

  • Integrated IALA MSK Beacon capability allows the use of free MSK Beacon correction transmissions without extra receiver or antenna. Decodes RTCM v2.4 for multi constellation support over MSK.

  • Use RTCM DGNSS corrections over an external radio link from a local reference station or over a cellular connection from an Internet-based reference station to extend the DGNSS range when Beacon coverage is not available.

  • Repeat-RTCM mode allows an MSK Beacon correction stream to be output for use by another receiver or transmission by radio.

  • Integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless technology for cable-free configuration and operation with a computer or smart phone

  • 12-channel L1 C/A Code GNSS receiver

  • 2-channel SBAS (Satellite Based Augmentation System) supporting WAAS (Wide Area Augmentation System), EGNOS (European Geo-Stationary Navigation System), and MSAS Satellite Based Augmentation

  • 2-channel MSK Beacon receiver

  • Configuration and monitoring interface through the following methods:
    • Web browser interface (PC, tablet and smart phone)
    • Networked, Wi-Fi or peer-to-peer Ethernet
    • Integrated display and keyboard
  • Small, lightweight design – 1.15 kg (2.54 lb) receiver only

  • Easy-to-use menu system for rapid configuration and status checking

  • Rugged, weatherproof construction with an IP67 environmental rating

  • –40 °C to +65 °C (–40 °F to +149 °F) operating temperature range

  • 12 V DC to 28 V DC external power input with over-voltage protection

  • Optional long-life integrated battery, typically provides 13 hours operation as a rover and acts as a UPS when connected to an AC/DC supply.

  • Capable of rover operation with an Internet-based reference station

  • RoHS and WEEE compliant

  • 1 pulse-per-second (1PPS) timing output

  • Choice of external GNSS antenna for rover receiver operation. See GNSS antenna chart.
