SPS855 features

This receiver is ideal for contractors who operate mid-to-large size projects with machine control.

This receiver is also suitable for system integrators. It can accept site calibration data and user-defined geoid and then output site coordinates.

The receiver has the following features:

  • 450 MHz (403 MHz to 473 MHz) or 900 MHz internal radio. The 450 UHF is a wideband 403 MHz to 473 MHz radio.

  • Supports the SNM941 cellular modem

  • Upgradeable receiver from Location GPS to Precision RTK modes. The modes are:

    • Location GPS precision at sub meter

    • Location RTK precision of 10 cm horizontal and 10 cm vertical

    • Location RTK precision of 10 cm horizontal and 2 cm vertical

  • Precision RTK mode for highest 3D accuracy. Optional Base only, Rover only, or Base/Rover modes.

  • 440-channel L1/L2C/L5 GPS and QZSS plus L1/L2 GLONASS receiver, Galileo, BeiDou

  • Trimble CenterPoint® RTX and OmniSTAR XP/HP/VBS service capable

  • 4-channel WAAS (Wide Area Augmentation System), EGNOS (European Geo-Stationary Navigation System), and MSAS Satellite Based Augmentation (SBAS) compatible

  • Long-life integrated battery, typically provides 9 hours operation as a base station or 12 hours operation as a rover with internal transmit/receive radio

  • Configuration and monitoring interface through the following methods:

    • Web interface

    • Networked or peer-to-peer Ethernet

    • Trimble Siteworks™ or SCS900 Site Controller software

To receive GPS L5, GLONASS, Galileo, or BeiDou signals on the SPS855, you must purchase the optional upgrade.

Base station

Rover

  • 5 Hz, 10 Hz, or 20 Hz measurement update rate (10 Hz maximum in Heading mode)

  • Base station-free rover capability within a VRS network or Internet Base Station Service (IBSS)

  • Base station-free rover capability using CenterPoint RTX/OmniSTAR services

  • Operates as an SBAS rover when coverage is available
