Install New Firmware

This page provides a summary of the firmware currently installed on the Trimble receiver. You can also use it to install new firmware on the receiver.

You can also view the firmware version installed, by selecting Receiver Status / Identity / Firmware Version.

All data files are deleted when you install new firmware. Before you install the new firmware, ensure that you first download any data files to your computer.

When you upload firmware version 3.70 or later using the web interface, and the receiver's firmware warranty has expired, the message Corrupt Firmware Image may appear when you select Firmware / Install. To confirm the expiry date, check the Firmware Warranty Date on this menu. To resolve this problem, contact your Trimble Dealer to order an extended 12 month firmware warranty to enable new firmware to be loaded.

Select Firmware / Install.

For receivers with the ProPoint™ GNSS positioning technology, the firmware numbering has changed from 5.xx to 6.xx. The firmware changes are used to differentiate between the new ProPoint GNSS positioning technology and the old GNSS engine. The Active Core Engine Version will still be 5.xx but the Active Firmware Version is 6.xx.

Firmware Warranty Date – Indicates when the firmware support for the receiver will expire. Once the date shown has passed, the receiver will not install new firmware. Any firmware that is dated earlier than this may be installed on the receiver. Before new firmware can be loaded, a Trimble Protected Plan must be purchased from Trimble and the receiver must be updated.
