Using the Digital Pen

Take notes, draw, navigate, and mark up documents directly on the screen using the Digital Pen. The Digital Pen is an active pen based on capacitive-coupled sensing technology for use on capacitive touch screens.

The Digital Pen requires a AAAA battery.

The Digital Pen is designed to work with the tablet automatically; no Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connection is required. The Pen works once it is close to the touchscreen.

When using the Digital Pen, the screen will not respond to finger touch.

1 Pen Button: For quick access to the right-click menu, press and hold the button, touch the screen with the Pen tip and release the button to bring up the right-click menu.

2 Eraser Button: Works as an eraser to delete markings made with the Digital Pen on the screen.

3 Pen Tip: Pressure-sensitive tip allows natural handwriting and drawing. Combined with apps that support pen pressure, the Digital Pen works like a real pen.

Replacing the battery

If the Pen is no longer responsive across the touchscreen, the battery may be depleted and may need replacing.

  1. Unscrew the top cap of the Digital Pen.

  2. Remove the battery, and then replace with a new AAAA battery. Replace the top cap.

Turning the Digital Pen on / off

Click the Pen Button (1) to turn the Digital Pen on.

When the Pen has been idle for two minutes, it automatically turns off.

Using the Pen Clip to tether the Digital Pen

Attach the Pen Clip to the rubber handstrap on the back of the tablet.

Push and insert the Digital Pen into the Pen Clip from the left or right side. Or, directly press the Digital Pen into the Pen Clip from the top.

Do not place the Digital Pen with the buttons facing inside the Pen Clip, as this might damage the buttons.

Caring for the Digital Pen

Read the instructions carefully. Failure to follow the instructions could result in damage to the Digital Pen and voiding its warranty.

  • Use the Digital Pen only in accordance with the operation guide.

  • Do not attempt to open or disassemble the Digital Pen (except to change the battery) as this will void the warranty.

  • Do not expose the Digital Pen to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight.

  • If there is any damage or broken parts, do not use the Digital Pen. Contact your reseller or service provider.

  • Clean with a dry cloth. Do not use water, soap, detergent, or other chemicals.

  • Operating temperature: 0 °C to +50 °C (+32 °F to +122 °F)

  • Storage temperature: -30 °C to 70 °C (-22 °F to +158 °F)
