Rules for Importing Multiple Observations with Different Feature Codes
If multiple observations are used to compute a point and at least two of the observations have different feature code strings assigned to them, the longest (most comprehensive) feature code string is assigned to the point in Trimble Business Center. For example, if one observation of the point is assigned the feature code "cp" ("concrete pad") and another observation is assigned the feature code "cmp" ("communication pedestal"), the feature code "cmp" is assigned to the point since, of the two, it is the longer code string. In this case, a yellow warning symbol is displayed in the Feature Code field in the point's Properties pane and the Points Spreadsheet to alert you that additional codes were assigned to observations for the point but were not assigned to the point in Trimble Business Center.
In another example, one observation of the point is assigned the feature code "cmp" ("communication pedestal") and another observation is assigned two feature codes: "cmp" ("communication pedestal") and "cp" ("concrete pad"). In this case, the feature codes "cmp" and "cp" are assigned to the point, since together they represent the longer code string ("cmp cp").
In the final example, one observation of the point is assigned the feature code "cmp" ("communication pedestal") and another observation is assigned the feature code "cmp concrete" ("communication pedestal" with the added description: "concrete"). In this case, the feature code string "cmp concrete" is assigned to the point, since the code along with the descriptor represents the longer code string.
