Convert As-Staked Points to Survey Points
As-staked points can be converted to survey points in either of the following ways:
- Automatically on import
- Manually after import
When an as-staked point is converted to a survey point, whether manually or automatically, the following occurs:
- A new survey point is created using the same name as the converted as-staked point. The observation associated with the as-staked point is moved to the survey point to determine its coordinate. If there are features assigned to the as-staked point, they are assigned to the new survey point as well.
- The as-staked point is renamed with an appended number (for example, point 100 would be renamed 100-1). Its coordinate and other data, including feature data, remains intact; however, it no longer includes an observation.
Prerequisites:
Converting an as-staked point automatically on import:
If a surveyor has set up the instrument on an as-staked point, when the data is imported into Trimble Business Center the as-staked point is automatically converted to a survey point as described above.
To convert an as-staked point manually:
In the Project Explorer, select the as-staked point you want to convert, right-click, and select Convert As-Staked Point. The as-staked point is automatically converted to a survey point as described above.
Note: If you are viewing the properties for an as-staked point, you can easily convert it to a survey point by clicking the Convert As-Staked Point button located at the top of the Properties pane.
