Workflow: Import Total Station Data

Import into your project and view data collected with a total station.

Before importing total station data, ensure your project is configured correctly in the Computations > Mean Angles and Default Standard Errors > Total Station sections of the Project Settings dialog.

For example, you can specify the default tolerance for mean angles in your project. You can also specify default standard, centering, and height errors.

Use the Import pane to select and import the total station data files into your project. Review the properties displayed in the Settings section at the bottom of the pane and make any necessary changes prior to clicking the Import button.

If the Import Errors dialog displays, view the Import Summary and read the warnings or messages located at the end of the report.

Note: If necessary, use the Total Station Editor to import total station data into your project by manually typing (keying) it in while referencing a spreadsheet or other type of document containing the data.

After import is complete, view project data in the Project Explorer and the various graphic and spreadsheet views available from the View menu. Double-click any object to view its properties in the Properties pane.

Optionally, right-click any mean angle to view its residuals and disable observations if necessary.
