Feature Definition Manager

The Feature Definition Manager is a standalone utility that allows you to create and manage a library of feature definitions that can be saved in a Feature Definition (.fxl) file. The Feature Definition (.fxl) file can be loaded onto a field device so a surveyor can select from the library to assign a feature code and attributes to a point in the field. The same Feature Definition (.fxl) file can then be imported into Trimble Business Center so the imported feature codes can be correctly processed.

Your installation of Trimble Business Center includes a default Feature Definition (.fxl) file (GlobalFeatures.fxl) that provides a good starting point for feature coding. You can modify this file as necessary using the Feature Definition Manager. Or, you can create your own Feature Definition (.fxl) file or use a Feature Definition (.fxl) file from some other source.

For more information about the Feature Definition Manager, open it and select Help > Contents, or pressF1.
