A model of the movement of points on the surface of the Earth due to plate motion, tectonic strain accumulation, seismic/post-seismic deformation, glacial isostatic adjustment, and/or other geological or anthropogenic processes that cause significant coordinate change over large areas. Used to propagate coordinates from one epoch (such as the epoch of measurement) to another (such as the reference epoch of the selected global reference datum).

The time-dependent coordinate transformation feature in TBC, which is used to transform between ITRF 2014 at the epoch of measurement and the global reference frame, uses displacement models in the working area when available. This ensures users obtain optimal accuracy in coordinate transformations and the best possible coordinates in the selected coordinate system.
