Edit a Run

The Register a Run feature also provides a way to improve the trajectory of a run initially registered with the same command. The improvement can be run as many times as required, not by incrementing each time the adjusted trajectory but by editing the same (imported) trajectory.

To edit the trajectory of a mobile mapping run:

  1. In the Project Explorer, select an already registered run.
  2. Select Register a Run the context menuto display the Register a Run command pane.
    • TBC reloads the parameters of the initial registration:
      - The registration type used.
      - For the ground control points (GCPs) involved in the registration:
      - The optimization option(s) (Use XY, or Use Z, or As Check) chosen.
      - The paired Target(s).
    • Note that the adjusted trajectory, and the selected and updated targets resulting from this initial registration have the names below:
      - RunName_Trajectory for the adjusted trajectory.
      - RunName_TrajectoryGCPName for the picked target(s).
      - RunName_TrajectoryGCPName* for the updated target(s).

Note: TBC displays a dialog if the loaded registration contains some missing points, either ground control points (GCPs) or targets.

  3. Do one of the following:
    • Add on top of the initial registration, some more sets of pairs of ground control points (GCP) and targets:
      - With the same registration type.
      - Or with a different registration type.
    • Remove an existing pair.
    • Modify an existing pair by picking a new target to replace the previous one.
  4. Press Compute.

As a result, an adjusted trajectory displayed in blue and a set of updated targets.

  5. Press Reset to reset to the initial registration, meaning that:
    • A modified target is restored to the initial picked position.
    • All added pairs (ground control points (GCPs) and targets) are removed.
    • All deleted pairs (ground control points (GCPs) and targets) are restored.
    • For the ground control points (GCPs), the followings are restored to:
      - The initial optimization option choices, if they have been changed.
      - The initial (As Check) choice, if it has been changed.
  6. Press Apply.
    • A new trajectory is created in the TBC database, and appears nested beneath the selected run node in the Project Explorer, as an adjusted trajectory based on the initial (imported) trajectory (called RunName_Trajectory2).
    • The targets that are involved in this registration and those from the initial registration are all renamed:
      - As RunName_Trajectory2GCPName for the picked target(s).
      - As RunName_Trajectory2GCPName* for the updated target(s).

Note: You can use the Register a Run command to improve the trajectory resulting from registering two runs together. The improvement can be done by editing the same (run_to_run) trajectory.
