dependent point

A CAD point with coordinates derived by dependencies on other objects, such as the intersection of two lines plus an offset distance, a station, percentage along a line, intersection, or another point. If you edit the object the point is dependent upon, the point is updated accordingly. This parametric nature helps preserve the geometric relationships within your data as you make changes.
