traverse adjustment

The process by which the linear misclosure in a traverse is adjusted (or distributed) throughout the traverse to provide balance. The software supports two methods of traverse adjustment:

• Compass (Bowditch) Rule method – Adjusts departures and latitudes of traverse courses in proportion to their lengths.
• Transit Rule method - Adjusts respective departures and latitudes in either equal proportions or proportional to the lengths of the lines.
