Add or Remove Design Map Objects

Add a design map to your job site design to make it available on designated controllers. Design map objects are selectable on site controllers in the field. They are used by crews to stake out features, alignments, and surfaces at the job site.

To add/remove design map objects:

Select Job Site Design Manager in Construction Data > Controllers.
The Select Design dialog displays.

Select the design you want to edit, and click OK. The Job Site Design Manager command pane displays.
Click in the Design Map group. The Add/Remove Design Map Objects dialog displays.
To add additional objects to the map, pick them in a graphic view or the Project Explorer, or click Options for selection options.
Note: Design maps can include points and CAD points, 2D or 3D CAD lines, linestrings, boundaries, and, alignments, and CAD text. CAD blocks must be exploded before their data can be included. For details on how data exported for machines is handled, see Export GCS Machine Job Site Design Files.
Click Add. The selected objects are added to the design map.
To remove excess objects, pick them or click Options.
Click Remove. The objects are removed from the design map.
Click OK. The design map is saved as a .dxf file in the data synchronization area.
To visually confirm which objects are included in the design map, click Select in the Job Site Design Manager.
