The amount of three-dimensional space that a material or an object occupies as represented in cubic units of linear measure. Volume differences are calculated in this software by comparing two surfaces or a surface and a horizontal plane (elevation)for the purpose of determining how much material needs to be moved (cut and filled) during heavy construction earthworks.
