Poor graphics performance - Troubleshooting

Symptom

Your system suffers from generally poor graphics performance. For example, graphic views are pixelated or contain artifacts when you pan or rotate them; or, mouse movements are delayed or track intermittently.

Possible Cause

You are not using the optimal display settings for your graphics card and operating system, or your computer's graphics card is not sufficient for advanced display settings.

Solution

  1. Select Options.
  2. In the Options dialog, select General > Display in the left pane, and then click the Advanced button.
  3. Check the Override automatic detection box, and select the appropriate option for your operating system. Or, try each of the following graphics display packages in sequence, restarting the program between each:
    - DirectX
    - OpenGL
    - GDI.
