Miscellaneous

  • TBC Online Help - On the Support tab, click the Field System Help Portal icon to connect to the TBC online help.

  • New and Updated ANZ Toolbox Commands - The ANZ Toolbox brings four new commands to TBC:

    • 3D Object Clash Detection - Enables you to select solid objects and utilities and apply a specified clearance tolerance, to identify potential clashes. It highlights the clash location, objects involved, and the distance between them, allowing you to review, analyze, and report the results effectively.

    • Best Fit Alignment - Enables you to fit straight lines or tangential curves horizontally through multiple selected points and dynamically display error residuals for each segment. This allows you to include or exclude specific points and apply custom weights.

    • Convert to BIM Utilities - Enables you to transform utility pipes and nodes into BIM utility objects.

    • Set Line Direction by Elevation - Enables you to select lines and set a direction based on their start and end elevation.

  • Additionally, the ANZ toolbox features the following updated commands:

    • Pavement Conformance Report - Extrapolate a surface to use reference surfaces and surfaces containing boundaries.

    • Mapping Filters - Search attribute values using the * wildcard character, or use the comparison operators <, >, <=, and >=. This enables you to filter numeric values based on a specified range or threshold.

    • Annotate Objects - New placeholders were added for “all attributes” and “all attribute values,” and added an option to align a point label to its associated line segment.

    • Line Node Cleanup - Use a tube filter on selected linework while limiting the distance left between removed nodes.

    • Batch Export - Select multiple surfaces and layers, including groups. This makes it easier to add large numbers of layers to export files. We have also added the ability to export directly to Trimble Connect projects and added a CSV exporter.

    • Insert Legend Table - CAD Block features are now displayed in the symbols table.

    • Rename Objects – The Find and replace text option helps you rename objects.

    • Insert Vertices from Points - Multiple lines can now be selected.

    • Adjust Level by Attribute - Create a copy of the adjusted points at their original level and assign a new feature code to the copied points.

    • Map Feature Attributes - Ignore objects that already have features assigned.

  • TBC Assistant [Beta] - TBC Assistant has been enhanced. It now loads within TBC and can execute certain workflows in your project. You need internet access to use this feature; find the link on the Support tab. (See TBC AI Assistant in the help.)

  • ST30 Support - Surveyors can now import jobs with measurements from the ST30 smart target, a combined smart prism and GNSS device that supports tilt compensation. Import and store raw tilt measurements (roll, pitch, and yaw) from JobXML files, display target orientation, and compute positions using tilt compensation.

  • Limit Box Keyboard Shortcuts - We have introduced new limit box, vertical slice, and horizontal slice keyboard shortcuts to improve workflow efficiency, particularly when working with mobile mapping data. (See Limit the Graphic View in the help.)

Data Exchange and Management

  • FARO Premium is not supported - Trimble does not support FARO Premium scanners with TBC or other Trimble products because Trimble has not received the updated API for the FARO .fls format. Users can choose to prevent the installation of the outdated .fls library through custom installation options.

  • Guided GIS Connection dialog - A new GIS Connection dialog in GIS > Connection walks you through connecting to an ArcGIS portal or feature service. Enter a service URL and TBC detects the service type and whether sign-in is required. Public services use fewer steps; private services open your browser for sign-in. Portal connections continue to the map preview. (See Manage GIS Connections in the help.)

  • Convert a TBC project into a workspace - You can now use the Convert to Workspace function on the Start Page to convert a TBC project into a workspace, which makes your project data available in the selected Trimble Connect project via the Trimble Desktop Utility (where you can also configure the workspace’s data storage location). Your connected TBC project VCE file is removed from its original location, but its data is still available to you (as part of the Trimble Connect project) via the Connected Workspace and Connected Project Explorer commands in TBC. (See Convert a TBC Project into a Workspace in the help.)

  • Connected Project Explorer - Use the Connected Project Explorer pane (docked next to your Project Explorer) to view and interact with any of your connected projects so you do not need to continually open and use the Connected Workspace dialog to exchange data between TBC and Trimble Connect. The Connected Project Explorer lets you quickly access project and data/file details from Trimble Connect. You can also import data directly using the Connected Project Explorer (to download data, use Connected Workspace). (See Use the Connected Project Explorer in the help.)

  • Create Field Data Assignment - Use the Create Field Data Assignment command to generate and set up Trimble Access jobs using project data directly from within TBC. (See Create a Field Data Assignment in Trimble Connect in the help).

  • Exchange Building Data files with FieldLink - You can now import and export Building Data files (.tflx). (See Export Building Data Files and Import Building Data Files (.tflx) in the help.)

  • Siteworks Support in Connected Workspace - The Connected Workspace command provides seamless, round-trip data synchronization between TBC and field systems like Trimble Access and Trimble Perspective (or other project team members running TBC using their Trimble ID login credentials) via Trimble Connect. Within the Connected Workspace, you can now import Trimble Siteworks work orders; a work order in Siteworks is similar to a job in Trimble Access. (See Share Projects and Data Using Connected Workspace in the help.)

    • VRS baselines that are longer than the maximum length are deselected by default in the Process Baselines dialog.

  • Improved RTX-PP Post Processing coordinates - TBC can import and process files from the latest version of RTX-PP. The Trimble RTX Post-Processing (RTX-PP) Web service computes the absolute position of points (with centimeter accuracy) contained in static occupation data files and imports them as GNSS positions that you can view in the Properties pane. (See Compute Positions Using RTX Post-Processing in the help.)

CAD and Linework

  • Search in the Project Explorer - Click the magnifying glass in the Project Explorer to open the new Search feature. This powerful tool instantly filters the project tree to show only matching items and their parents. The search is case-insensitive and supports wildcard patterns using *. (see Project Explorer in the help).

  • Dropdown Menus in the Status Bar - The Status Bar now features several dropdown menus, enabling you to pick a Snap set, one of several Background Map options (if available), and to set the Scale for Plan Views. (See Status Bar in the help.)

  • Standardized Windows keyboard shortcuts - TBC now allows standard Windows shortcuts, such as Ctrl+A, Ctrl+C, and Ctrl+V, to be processed by text-based controls and the graphics window. For example, depending on the cursor focus, you can copy either a selected section of text or the objects currently selected in the graphics view. (See Keyboard Navigation in the help.)

  • Toggle the Command Pane Lock/Unlock button with F2 - Use the F2 key to toggle the Command Pane Lock (the lock at the top of the Command pane) to access the Properties and context menu functions in the graphics view without closing the Command Pane. (See Set Command Shortcuts in the help.)

  • 3D Grips in 3D View - Graphic objects now have grip points in 3D Views. To manipulate an object in 3D, click the grip once, then click the snap point where you want it placed. Free-hand dragging remains available in the Plan View. (See Move and Modify CAD Objects Using Grips in the help.)

  • Coordinate Display with Elevation - The Coordinate Display and the Coordinate Scroll windows now show elevations when snapping to 3D objects.

  • Magnetic Snaps - When a snap marker is highlighted in the graphics view, the crosshair now centers on the highlighted coordinate. To switch this off, go to Options > General >Display. (See Set Running Snap Modes in the help.)

  • Labels on the Layer of the Labeled Object - We have changed the label UI to make an existing functionality more transparent. If you selected Layer 0, labels were created on the layer of the labeled object. Layer 0 has now been replaced by <<By Labeled Objects>>. If a label style used layer 0 in versions prior to 2026.20, the default layer for those styles becomes <<By Labeled Objects>>. TBC now handles this setting consistently in all applications, for example, labels created in Feature Processing. (See Create and Edit Label Styles, Create Polygon Layers, Create Point Layers, and Create Line Layers in the help.)

  • Label Style Enhancements - The Label Style Manager and Label Table Style Manager now remember the last tab you used (Line Styles, Point Styles, or Polygon Styles). When you reopen the dialog, it automatically returns to that tab. Additionally, the Label Style Manager now shows a confirmation dialog if there are still pending items when you click OK, helping prevent accidental loss of your changes. (See Create and Edit Label Table Styles and Create and Edit Label Styles in the help.)

  • Line Length preview enhancement - A measurement (length) of the line segment is now displayed next to the cursor for all distance and offset controls, such as Trim/Extend, Create Circle, Offset Line, and Three-Point Rectangle. (See Trim and Extend Lines, Create a Circle, Offset a Line, and Create a Rectangle from Three Points in the help.)

  • Right-click to insert Linestrings and Polylines - You can now right-click to use the Insert Line Segment command to insert a new segment into a linestring or polyline. (See Insert a Segment into a Linestring or Polyline in the help.)

  • CAD file Import Automatic Scale Detection - When importing CAD (.dwg/.dxf) files, TBC now inspects each file for unit markers such as the INSUNITS variable and selects the appropriate unit (for example, meter or foot). You can override TBC’s determination and set the scale unit yourself. When you drag and drop a CAD file, TBC applies the detected unit automatically. (See Import CAD Files (.dxf/.dwg) in the help.)

  • Layer Selection by Keys — Layer controls now respond more reliably to keyboard navigation. Press the down arrow or start typing filter characters to open the list, then use the up and down arrows to move through it. Selecting a layer by picking an object in the graphic view has been restored; click in the Layer field, then pick an object to open its layer. (See Create and Edit a Layer in the help.)

  • Capture Outlines in the Cutting Plane View - Capture Outlines, used to digitize buildings from a point cloud, has been upgraded to work in the Cutting Plane View. Use it to capture facades and other objects in 3D. (See Capture Outlines from Measured or Scanned Points in the help.)

  • Copy/Paste from the Cutting Plane View - TBC now enables you to copy vector data from the Cutting Plane View and paste it into the Plan View. TBC automatically lays the copied geometry flat and positions it exactly like the tilted cutting plane – no manual rotation needed. If you select a point cloud in the Cutting Plane View, you can optionally generate an orthophoto and paste it into the Plan View. (See Cutting Plane View and Copy/Paste in the help.)

  • Add a dynaview from the Plan View or the Cutting Plane View - When your project contains cutting planes, clicking Add dynaview in the Sheet View gives you the option to choose the dynaview frame from Plan View or from Cutting Plane View. (See Create a Dynaview in the help.)

  • Append Plan Set Sheets to a PDF - When printing plan sets to PDF, you can now append newly printed sheets to an existing PDF. This enables you to build a complete plan set document over multiple print runs without losing earlier pages. Note that the print runs must use the same format. (See Print Sheets from a Plan Set in the help.)

  • Save Print Plan Sets to Connected Workspace - The Print Plan Set command now offers a Remote save button that uploads the generated PDF to Connected Workspace instead of saving it locally. (See Print Sheets from a Plan Set in the help.)

  • Use the Print by Selection command in 3D View - You can now use the Print by Selection command to print a specific selected area from the 3D View. Select the printout resolution to ensure high-quality prints, even when using a small selection of the view. (See Print Plan View in the help.)

  • Print Column in Advanced View Filters — Advanced View Filter Settings now include a Print column for layers, so you can turn printing off for a filter while the data stays visible in the Plan View. This is useful for elements like boundaries that need to print on one plan but not another. (See Advanced View Filter Settings in the help.)

  • Display Order in Sheet View - You can now control the stacking order of Sheet objects (dynaviews, title blocks, north arrows, scale bars, label tables, images, text, and CAD linework) and allow them to hide other data behind them. Three new features enable this:

    • Every Sheet object now has a Display Priority property that determines which objects draw on top.

    • Dynaviews, label tables, raster images, and scale bars now have background options that let them obscure whatever sits behind them.

    • The new White (fixed) color always draws white on screen and on paper, instead of flipping to black on light backgrounds. Use it to create white hatches behind blocks and titles.

    • (See Create a Dynaview and Linestring Options in the help.)

  • Offset lines - You can now create offset lines on both sides of a selected line at once. (See Offset a Line in the help.)

  • View Filter Manager Enhancement - Toggle Hide empty layers in the context menu to show or hide empty layers. (See View Filter Manager Options in the help.) Also, Advanced View Filter Settings now has a Print column for layers. This enables you to print a single View Filter without changing the layer's global setting in Layer Manager. (See Advanced View Filter Settings in the help.)

Point Clouds

  • Manually add PCI conditions - TBC now allows you to manually add asphalt cracking conditions, including Alligator, Transversal, Longitudinal, and other cracking (see Inspect Pavement Condition in the help.)

  • Generate a JSON ramp analysis report - You can now generate the ramp analysis report as a JSON file as well as a PDF. The JSON includes all the metadata, questionnaire answers, and measurements. Easily convert ramp analysis deliverables into agency specific reporting templates using the JSON report. (See Create a Ramp and Run an ADA Ramp Compliance Report in the help.)

  • Manually edit Jointed Concrete PCI - Use the Manual Condition tab to manually define conditions for concrete slabs, which enables you to incorporate missed conditions during automatic analysis of the PCI score. (See Inspect Pavement Condition in the help.)

  • Updated Workflow for Milling and Paving Best-Fit Design - Automatically create design models for 3D machine control systems, based on existing roadway surfaces. Use this workflow to find the smoothest longitudinal line while minimizing the total cut and fill. This enables you to easily achieve the minimum removal depth the task requires. (See Create a Milling and Paving Surface in the help.)

  • Updated Indoor Point Cloud Classification - Use the Classify Point Clouds command to classify finished indoor construction and mechanical rooms. (See Classify Point Clouds in the help.)

  • Pavement Inspection Report - You can now use the Pavement Inspection Report command to perform airport pavement analysis automatically. Pavement inspection for airports evaluates airport pavement conditions and provides an output as a report with results for:

    • Sample unit distresses with their attributes

    • Sample unit PCI rating and score

  • (See Run a Pavement Inspection Report in the help.)

Photogrammetry

  • Support for DJI M4D and DJI L3 drone baseline processing - TBC now supports the DJI M4D and L3 drones for baseline processing. (See Understanding Aerial Photogrammetry Data in the help).

  • Points to Cloud Report – Use the Points to Cloud Report to compare points to a point cloud region or scan to determine the nearest scan point to the selected point. Now you can access the Points to Cloud Report on the Photogrammetry > Reports ribbon. (See Run a Points to Cloud Report in the help.)

  • Automatically import large aerial photogrammetry files - TBC now enables you to automatically import large aerial photogrammetry result files, which can take a long time to process. You can process large files overnight, so the data will be imported when you return. (See Create Aerial Photogrammetry Deliverables in the help.)

  • Generate Orthomosaics as a single file or tiles - You can now generate orthomosaics from photogrammetry data as either a single file, or as multiple tiles. (See Create Aerial Photogrammetry Deliverables in the help.)

Scanning

  • Export from X Series Scanners -We have introduced new E57, RCP, and PTX structured export capabilities, which enables full scan exports complete with color data.

  • Accelerated TDX Import -TDX file imports have been significantly accelerated, achieving up to 3x faster processing times on large projects (800 or more scans), with performance gains scaling according to the dataset size.

  • RCP Export Performance -We have restored RCP export performance to optimal speeds.

Mines

  • Export 3D Mesh outputs - Export the output from the Create 3D Mesh command as either .dxf or .dwg files. (See Create a 3D Mesh in the help.)

Surfaces

  • Compute using grid - You can now use a grid method for calculating a cut/fill map, which speeds up the calculation by sampling the surface at set intervals instead of at every vertex. Then, define the grid size in project units (defaults grid sizes are 5.0' (Imperial) and 2.0 meters (metric).

  • This method is also used for the Earthwork Summary Report to approximate surfaces with a mesh of squares, rather than surface triangles.

Takeoff

  • Takeoff Report volume rounding - If you have volumes set to round to the nearest value in Project Settings and/or the Material and Site Improvement Manager (combination of Volume Unit rounding and material rounding in the MSIM), that rounding will be noted (e.g., "Volumes rounded to nearest: 10 yd³") at the top of the Custom Takeoff Report and the Earthwork Summary Report to prevent confusion about volume discrepancies.

Mobile Mapping

  • Process Raw Trajectory Data - The tool now includes POSPac Complete advanced technologies. Top features include:

    • IN-Fusion+ PP-RTX: An aided-inertial processing mode that uses Trimble CenterPoint RTX technology to provide centimeter-level post-processed positioning without a local reference station. Its inertial-centric architecture maintains trajectory continuity through GNSS-challenged environments.

    • IonoGuard: Frequency-agnostic ionospheric scintillation mitigation that addresses degraded GNSS performance during the current solar maximum. Now supported in both Single Base and PP-RTX modes, IonoGuard reduces position errors caused by ionospheric activity from meter-level to centimeter-level, expanding the reliable operational window for data collection.

    • Performance Improvements:

      • Improved accuracy in IN‐Fusion+ modes.

      • Improved IN‐Fusion+ PP‐RTX 2 sigma 3D positioning performance by up to 44% for urban canyon applications using a new GNSS outlier detection algorithm (white paper).

    • LiDAR QC:

      • Added support for scan point thinning for Trimble MX products to improve speed and RAM usage.

      • Improved performance and stability for Riegl RXP data.

Field data

  • Siteworks Support in Connected Workspace - The Connected Workspace command provides seamless, round-trip data synchronization between TBC and field systems like Trimble Access and Trimble Perspective (or other project team members running TBC using their Trimble ID login credentials) via Trimble Connect. Within the Connected Workspace, you can now import Trimble Siteworks work orders; a work order in Siteworks is similar to a job in Trimble Access. (See Share Projects and Data Using Connected Workspace in the help.)

  • Exchange Building Data files with FieldLink - You can now import and export Building Data files (.tflx). (See Export Building Data Files and Import Building Data Files (.tflx) in the help.)

Utility

  • Reuse a Utility Trench Template - You can now export a trench template as a Trench template transfer file (.vcltt) so that you or a colleague can reuse it by importing it into another project, thereby speeding up your design work. (See Manage Trench Templates in the help.)

Third-party tools

  • Import JobXML 6.35 from Trimble Access - TBC can now import JobXML v6.35 from Trimble Access, which adds a new Gridline Station Setup. In a Gridline Setup, the instrument is set up by measuring points on two known design gridlines, instead of using traditional control points.

  • Updates to Cloud Services - Settings and pano image exports are now stored in Trimble File Service. Pano image exports will be retained for 12 months from their creation time. This change affects current and previous TBC releases. You should not see any changes to your normal workflow.

  • ArcGIS Connection - TBC now provides an easy way to connect and browse your Esri services in ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise as a map-based portal experience. The new connection wizard simplifies the process by automatically identifying service types and security requirements, allowing you to focus on your data instead of configuration. (See Manage GIS Connections and Set up an External Standard Layering Convention in the help.)
