Getting started

To help get you started using your device, this section covers inserting SIM and SD cards, charging the battery, storing data, attaching the handstrap, customizing the device's programmable buttons, resetting the handheld to factory settings, calibrating the compass, and connecting the device to an office computer.

The TDC6 handheld is rated IP67 (see Use and care of the handheld for more information). It has:

  • Wi-Fi (Wireless LAN) technology

  • Bluetooth® wireless technology

  • a high-sensitivity GNSS receiver, supporting GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, QZSS, SBAS satellites with 2 - 4 meter positioning accuracy in real time

  • a 5G cellular modem, and 2 nanoSIM card slots, for cellular communication

  • a microSD/SDHC storage slot

  • a replaceable Li-ion battery

  • 6 GB RAM and 64 GB internal memory

A standard pack-out has the following items:

  • A TDC6 handheld, with bumpers and glass screen protector installed

  • Battery

  • USB charging cable

  • A QR code card, linking to the Hardware Help Portal, with links to the Quick Start Guide and online user guide

The following optional accessories are available to purchase:

  • Replacement bumpers

  • Replacement battery

  • Replacement glass screen protector

  • AC power adaptor

  • Controller mounting bracket

  • Pole bracket
