Notes on using the LandXML to TunnelXML file style sheet ====================================================== The LandXML to TunnelXML file style sheets are designed to be used only with the File and Report Generator program (or the earlier ASCII File Generator program). There are 2 style sheets available in the in the zip file: The 'LandXML to TunnelXML (single surface).xsl' style sheet will create TunnelXML files suitable for use with Trimble Access versions prior to version 2013.10 where only one profile surface could be handled. The style sheet will allow you to select the profile surface to be used if the LandXML file has more than one profile surface defined. The 'LandXML to TunnelXML.xsl' style sheet will create TunnelXML files suitable for use with Trimble Access version 2013.10 and later that can work with more than one profile surface. The style sheets will let you convert a LandXML file containing horizontal alignment, vertical profile and tunnel profile data to a TunnelXML containing the same design data. Note that as the tunnel design data in a LandXML file can be recorded in the file in a wide variety of forms, the style sheet may not be able to successfully interpret the data in the LandXML file. If you do not already have the File and Report Generator program installed on your computer, you can install it from the following URL: https://forms.trimble.com/globalTRLTAB.asp?nav=Collection-59798 Both style sheets are designed to work with version 2.0.1 of the File and Report Generator (or version 1.0.23 of the earlier ASCII File Generator). After installation, the File and Report Generator program is available from the Start|Programs menu group. The File and Report Generator installation will place a number of style sheet files in the \Report Style Sheets folder and you can add the downloaded 'LandXML To TunnelXML.xsl' and 'LandXML to TunnelXML (single surface).xsl' files to the folder. Carry out the following steps to extract the tunnel definition from a LandXML file and write it out to a TunnelXML file: 1. Start the File and Report Generator program and select the appropriate LandXML file using the Browse... button associated with the 'Source JobXML or Job file' field. In the Open File dialog presented select 'XML files' from the drop down list in the 'Files of type' field to assist in locating the LandXML file. 2. Select 'LandXML To TunnelXML' (or 'LandXML to TunnelXML (single surface)') in the 'Output format' field. 3. Click OK to start the conversion operation. 4. If there is more than 1 alignment defined in the LandXML file, a pop-up dialog will be presented asking you to select the alignment to be exported. Choose the alignment you want exported to the TunnelXML file from the drop down list of available alignments. 5. If using the 'LandXML to TunnelXML (single surface).xsl' style sheet and if there is more than 1 tunnel profile defined in the LandXML file for the selected alignment, a pop-up dialog will be presented asking you to select the profile to be exported. Choose the profile you want exported to the TunnelXML file from the drop down list of available profiles. After these steps the TunnelXML file will be written and you are provided with a File Save dialog to let you choose where the file should be saved.
