Staking out a LandXML road

When staking out a LandXML cross section road, you can work from the map or from the menu by staking out the LandXML road that has been converted and stored as an RXL file. To convert the file, see To define a LandXML cross section road.

When staking out a LandXML string road, you must work from the map. Because a LandXML string road is already fully defined, it does not need to be converted to an RXL file before staking out.

When you select a road in the map and then tap Stakeout, the software always shows the plan view of the road. Select the item in the road to stake. From the plan view you can switch to the cross section view when required.

Do not change the coordinate system or calibration after you have staked out points, or computed offset or intersection points. If you do, the previously staked out or computed points will be inconsistent with the new coordinate system and any points computed or staked out after the change.
