To export LandXML string roads from Tekla Civil

For best results when using LandXML string roads in the Trimble Access Roads software, export files using Tekla Civil version 19.30 or later.

  1. Start Tekla Civil and select a project.
  2. To export a road as a break line file you must first copy the structure model to the construction model (Worksite / Copy structure model to construction model).
  3. Select File / Export file / Export to Inframodel file.
  4. Select the Terrain and Map tab.
  5. Select the Planning model check box.
  6. Select the Geometry of the main line check box and select the route.
  7. From the Surface and types group box:
    1. Click Surfaces and select the surface of the structure to be exported.
    2. Select the Lines check box. Trimble recommends that you do not export the triangle model.
  8. Enter the file name and path.
  9. Select OK to write the file.
  1. Start Tekla Civil and select a project.
  2. Select File / Export file / Export to Inframodel file.
  3. Select the Structure tab.
  4. From the Alignments group box:
    1. Click Get selected to export the current alignment, or click Alignments and select alignment(s) to export.
    2. Select the Geometry check box. Do not select the Cross section check box.
    3. Enter the Station step (interval).
  5. From the Surfaces group box:
    1. Click Surfaces and select the surface of the structure to be exported.
    2. Select the Stringline model and make sure the Triangle check box is not selected.
  6. Enter the file name and path.
  7. Select OK to write the file.
