Auxiliary GNSS settings

Auxiliary GNSS devices include GNSS devices integrated into controllers or third-party GNSS devices connected via Bluetooth. Auxiliary GNSS can be used during a conventional survey for GeoLock, navigating to a point, and to display the position in the map.

To configure auxiliary GNSS settings:

  1. Tap and select Settings / Connections.

  2. Select the Auxiliary GNSS tab.

  3. Select an auxiliary GNSS receiver. Choose from:

    • None – the controller's internal GNSS will not be available.
    • Internal GNSS – for supported controllers.
    • Custom – to connect to an external GNSS receiver.

To connect the controller to a third-party GNSS device connected using Bluetooth, select the Bluetooth tab in the Connections screen and select the device in the Auxiliary GNSS field. For more information, see Bluetooth connections.

To make sure you are getting positions from the internal GNSS, tap and select Instrument / Position. Tap Options and set the Coordinate view to Global.

When there is more than one source of GNSS positions available to GeoLock, such as an autonomous position from the controller, or an autonomous or RTK position from a connected GNSS receiver, GeoLock will always use the best position available. The setting for Auxiliary GNSS only controls whether a GNSS position from a controller or an external custom receiver are available. If Auxiliary GNSS is set to None, GeoLock is only available when a Trimble GNSS receiver is connected.
