To start a postprocessed rover survey

  1. Set up and connect the GNSS receiver.
  2. In Trimble Access, make sure the required job is open.
  3. To start the survey, tap and select Measure. If there is more than one survey style configured, select a survey style from the list. Select the software function to use, for example Measure points.

When you select a survey style for the first time, the software prompts you to customize the style for your specific hardware.

  4. If a message warns that an option in the receiver is not available, then your receiver options subscription may have expired. To check the expiry date, tap and select Instrument / Receiver settings and check the values shown in the Trimble GNSS subscriptions group.
  5. If you have selected any "Prompt for" settings in the RTK survey style, you are prompted to confirm the correction source. Tap Accept.
  6. Use the status bar to confirm the software is connected and receiving correction data.

In a FastStatic survey you can begin surveying immediately.

To achieve centimeter‑level precisions from a PP kinematic survey when the data is processed, the survey must initialize. With dual‑frequency receivers, the initialization process begins automatically if at least five L1/L2 satellites are being observed. See PP initialization times.

In a postprocessed survey, only rely on the On the fly (automatic) initialization if you are certain that the receiver will observe at least 5 satellites without interruption for the next 15 minutes, or 6 satellites without interruption for the next 8 minutes. Otherwise, initialize on a known point.

If you do not require centimeter‑level results and want to start surveying immediately, select Measure / PPK initialization. Tap Init and set the Method field to No initialization.

  7. Measure points.

You cannot stake out points during a postprocessed survey.
