To adjust a FOCUS 30/35 total station

  1. Set up the instrument on a stable surface.
  2. Make sure that the instrument is accurately leveled and that the compensator is enabled.

  3. Tap and select Instrument / Adjust.

    The procedures available in the Adjust screen depend on the connected instrument.

  4. Perform each adjustment in turn, using the steps below.

  1. Position the instrument so that the angle to the point is less than 4°30' (5 gon) from the horizontal plane.

  2. Select Collimation.

    Current adjustment values for the instrument are shown.

  3. Tap Next.

  4. Aim at the point and take the collimation measurement.

    Do not use Autolock during collimation or trunnion axis tilt tests.

    You must take a minimum of one observation on each face. If you take more than one observation, complete all observations on face 1 first. Between each observation, turn the instrument away and then re‑aim.

  5. To change face, tap Chg face and observe the same number of observations on face 2 as you observed on face 1.

  6. When the number of observations is the same for both faces, tap Results.

    The current values and the new instrument values are shown.

  7. Tap Accept.

  1. Position the instrument so that the angle to the point is less than 13°30' (15 gon) from the horizontal plane.

  2. Select Trunnion axis tilt.

    Current adjustment values for the instrument are shown.

  3. Tap Next.

  4. Aim at the point and take the trunnion axis tilt measurement.

    Do not use Autolock during collimation or trunnion axis tilt tests.

    You must take a minimum of one observation on each face. If you take more than one observation, complete all observations on face 1 first. Between each observation, turn the instrument away and then re‑aim.

  5. To change face, tap Chg face and observe the same number of observations on face 2 as you observed on face 1.

  6. When the number of observations is the same for both faces, tap Results.

    The current values and the new instrument values are shown.

  7. Tap Accept.

Autolock collimation should be performed after the HA VA Collimation adjustment, if available, has been completed.

  1. Select Autolock collimation.
  2. Follow the prompts.
  3. Sight to a target on face 1 with a slope distance between 20 m and 300 m and within 4°30’ (5 gon) of horizontal.
