To edit point name records

You can use the Point manager to edit the names of points and observations.

If you change the name or coordinates of a record, or delete a point or feature record, the positions of other records that rely on that record could change or disappear. Make sure you have read the topic Point record changes: effects on other points and you understand the impact of your changes before you make them.

  1. Tap and select Job data / Point manager.

  2. Tap the record or use the arrow keys to select it.

    You cannot edit the name of

    • points in linked files
    • an observation to the current station if a survey is running
    • a backsight observation
  3. Tap Edit and then select Point names.

  4. Edit the name.

    If you are editing the name of a total station observation which is one of a number of total station observations to the same point name, such as observations taking when measuring rounds, select whether to rename other observations with the same name observed from the same station. If you are renaming an MTA record, then all other observations to the same point from the same station setup will be automatically renamed to match the MTA point name.

  5. Tap OK.

    Details of changes made are automatically saved to the Note record.
