To turn sounds on and off

Sound events are prerecorded messages that notify you of an event or action that has occurred. They correspond with status line messages, and common error and warning messages.

To turn all sound events on or off:

  1. Tap and select Settings / Languages.
  2. Select the Play sound events check box to turn on sound events, or clear it to turn them off.
  3. Select the Vibrate check box to enable vibration feedback whenever Trimble Access auto stores a point or when a point is ready to be stored.

The Vibrate check box is available only when the controller is a TSC7, TDC6 or TDC600.

Sound events are stored as .wav files. You can customize your own sound events by replacing or deleting the existing .wav files located in the Sounds folder on the controller. The location of the folder depends on the controller operating system:

  • Windows: C:\Program Files\Trimble\General Survey\Languages\<language>\Sounds
  • Android: <Device name>\Trimble Data\Languages\<language>\Sounds
