Important handling information for the DA2
Operating temperature: The DA2 is designed to work in ambient temperatures between -4° and +140° F (-20° and +60° C) and stored in temperatures between -22° and 158° F (-30° and 70° C). The DA2 can be damaged if stored or operated outside of these temperature ranges. Avoid exposing the DA2 to dramatic changes in temperature or humidity. When you’re using the DA2, it is normal for the enclosure to get warm.
Cleaning
Clean the DA2 immediately if it comes in contact with anything that may cause stains, corrosion, or other damage—for example, dirt or sand, ink, makeup, soap, detergent, acids or acidic foods, oils, sunscreens, or lotions. To clean the DA2:
-
Disconnect the battery pack/power source
-
Use a soft, damp cloth
-
Avoid getting moisture in openings.
-
Don’t use cleaning products or compressed air
Exposure to liquids, dirt, dust, or other contaminants
If liquid splashes on the DA2 or dust, mud, or other debris gets on it, wipe it off with a soft, dampened cloth. Minimize exposing the DA2 to soap, detergent, acids, and oil-based liquids—for example, salt water, soapy water, pool water, insect repellent, lotion, sunscreen, oil, adhesive remover, and solvents. If the DA2 comes into contact with any of these substances, follow the instructions above in the Cleaning section.
The DA2 is splash, water, and dust resistant and was tested under controlled laboratory conditions with a rating of IP65 under IEC standard 60529. To reduce risk of damage from liquid or dust, avoid the following:
-
Exposing the DA2 to pressurized water or high velocity water
-
Intentionally submerging the DA2 in water
-
Operating the DA2 outside the suggested temperature ranges or in extremely humid conditions
-
Dropping the DA2 or subjecting it to other impacts
-
Exposing the DA2 to prolonged mechanical stresses, shocks, and high frequency vibrations
-
Disassembling, including removing screws
USB cable
Discoloration of the USB connector after regular use is normal. Dirt, debris, and exposure to moisture may cause discoloration. The USB cable is removable by unscrewing the rubber push fit mount with a screwdriver. If your DA2 does not turn on, check the following:
-
Check the USB cable is correctly inserted into the antenna by unscrewing the push fit mount
-
Check the USB cable is clear of dust and debris with a dry cloth
Certain usage patterns can contribute to the fraying or breaking of the cable. The included cable, like any other metal wire or cable, is subject to becoming weak or brittle if repeatedly bent in the same location. Aim for gentle curves instead of angles in the cable. Regularly inspect the cable and connector for any kinks, breaks, bends, or other damage. Should you find any such damage, replace the cable.
