Handling file name conflicts
If a file with the same name already exists in the destination folder, a Resolve Conflicts dialog appears, giving you control over how to proceed. You have three options:
-
Skip - cancels the Copy for that specific item, leaving the existing file at the destination untouched.
-
Overwrite - permanently replaces the existing file in the destination folder with the one you are copying.
-
Save as Copy - keeps both files. The new file you are copying will be saved with a suffix added to its name (e.g., filename - copy.ext).
Applying an action to all conflicts
At the bottom of the dialog, there is a checkbox labeled Do this for all current items.
-
If you select this checkbox, your chosen action (Skip, Overwrite, or Save as Copy) is automatically applied to any subsequent name conflicts that occur during the same Copy operation.
-
If you leave it unselected, you are prompted to make a choice for each file name conflict.
