Bilateration method

To use the Bilateration method you must have two reference nodes positioned in the survey and know their distance from the target node. Use a tape measure or laser rangefinder to measure the distance to the target node.

  1. Tap .

    If you do not see this button in the Survey method bar, drag left across the Survey method bar to view more buttons.

  2. Select the two reference nodes that define the construction line: tap and then tap the first node, then tap and tap the second node.

    The construction line appears on the map.

  3. Measure the horizontal distance from node 1 to the target. Tap and enter the distance.
  4. Measure the horizontal distance from node 2 to the target. Tap and enter the distance.

    The target node appears on the map.

  5. Tap the map to toggle between the two possible calculated positions for the target node.
  6. Tap to create the node in the position shown.
