Get started
Start wherever makes sense to you:
-
In Trimble Business Center send a data selection using Send to Sync.
-
In Trimble Sync Manager, create a project and job.
-
In Trimble Access, download a project that has been configured by Trimble Sync Manager, download or create a job in that project, survey then sync back to the office.

You can create a project and upload it to the cloud using any of the following software:
-
Trimble Connect web application
-
Trimble Sync Manager desktop application
-
Trimble Access field software
For more information, see Using an existing Connect project and Creating a project.
Add project data as templates and project files, including control points, map files including IFC, DXF, and RXL, and surfaces. See Supported files and To link project files for download to the controller.
Share the project with other people in your team.

Use Trimble Business Center to send data as well as project settings straight to Trimble Sync Manager from the Trimble Business Center software. In the Trimble Sync Manager desktop application, you can create jobs with fully configured job properties inherited from the Trimble Business Center project. See Creating a job.
If you do not use Trimble Business Center, export the data from your usual survey and civil engineering software, such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, 12d Model, or Bentley civil software. Use Trimble Sync Manager to create a job and link your exported data files to the job. All job properties can be configured in Trimble Sync Manager and, if required, saved as a template to speed up the creation of subsequent jobs. See Creating a job.

Use the Trimble Sync Manager desktop application to add a useful description to the job that contains instructions for the field crew and then assign the job to a member of your team. If required, jobs can be reassigned to different team members at any time.
To avoid potential issues when uploading data from the field, team members should avoid working on jobs that are not assigned to them. To hide jobs from a team member to whom they are not assigned, assign the team member the user role and then select the Restrict job visibility check box. For more information, see Managing team members.
When synchronizing field data with the cloud, field users who are using a controller that has a Trimble Access perpetual license must be assigned a Connect Business subscription. To do this, sign in to the Trimble License Manager web app as your organization's License Administrator and assign the available Trimble Connect Business subscription to the appropriate user. For more information, see Upgrading to a Trimble Connect Business subscription license.

Once fieldwork is in progress, you can generate reports to complete data quality reviews as the data is uploaded from the field or once the fieldwork is complete. See Reviewing jobs.
Send the job data to Trimble Business Center from Trimble Sync Manager, or export the data to another file type and then import it to your survey and civil engineering software. See To export data to your office software.
