Sending data from Trimble Business Center

If you have Trimble Business Center software version 4.10.1 or later, you can use the Send to Sync tool provided in Trimble Business Center to upload data from the Trimble Business Center project to the Trimble Connect cloud project. Then create a job using the Trimble Sync Manager desktop application.

  1. In Trimble Business Center, open the project.
  2. In the Home ribbon, click Send to Sync.

    The Trimble Sync pane opens.

  3. Select the entities you want to send. Click Options to change the selection method.

  4. Select how the selected entities will be sent to Trimble Sync Manager.
    1. Enter the Name of the file to upload to Trimble Connect.
    2. To confirm your selection, click Add Selection.
  5. If required, repeat the steps above to select different entities that will be uploaded to the Trimble Connect cloud project.
  6. To send the data to Trimble Sync Manager, click Send.

    If it is not already open, the Trimble Sync Manager desktop application opens automatically and displays the Apply Trimble Business Center Data message.

  7. To add the data received from Trimble Business Center to a project, click Add to Project. Select the Trimble Connect project and then select the cloud folder that the data file should be uploaded to.

  8. For files that must be downloaded to Trimble Access with the project, click the gray link next to the file name to change the link color to orange.

    Team members using Trimble Access version 2021.11 or earlier can only download files that have an orange link next to the file name.

    Team members using a later version of Trimble Access can select and download files that have gray links if they choose. However changing the link color of important files to orange in Trimble Sync Manager is useful to make sure required files are not missed and to streamline the download process in the field.

    Project reference files uploaded to the Connect cloud project using earlier versions of Trimble Sync Manager that are not attributed do not show in Trimble Access 2021.20 and cannot be downloaded.

  9. To open the Create a job screen, select the Open create job option and then click Continue.

    If the data received from Trimble Business Center included embedded points, then the Open create job option is automatically selected.

  10. To create a job, refer to the steps in the Creating a job topic. Alternatively, click Project overview at the top of the Project properties screen to return to the Project overview screen.

To append data to a job you have previously created using Send to Sync, make sure the job is displayed in the Create job or Edit job screen in Trimble Sync Manager, and then select the additional entities in Trimble Business Center and click Send.
