Security settings
If your role is System Administrator, you can configure the security settings for accessing Trimble 4D Control Web.
Active Directory Configuration
Active Directory is a centralized database that manages and organizes information about network resources, such as computers, users, and groups, within a Windows domain network. It provides authentication, authorization, and directory services, allowing users to access resources securely and efficiently.
The System Administrator can enable Active Directory.
To enable Active Directory, set Enable Active Directory to Yes. Enabling this will allow users to authenticate against an active directory.
The AD Domain is the Active Directory domain to be used.
Specify the Active Directory Groups to be mapped with the T4D roles. Use “;” to map multiple groups to the same role.
User names that are used to log in to T4D Web must be identical with the ones in the active directory and are not necessarily email addresses like with the in-built T4D authorization and authentication scheme.
Password Policy Configuration
The System Administrator can enable Password Policy.
To enable the password policy set Enforce Policy to Yes. Users whose current passwords do not meet the minimum requirements will be required to update their password upon login.
The Expiration Days is the number of days before user passwords will need to be updated.
Auto Lockout Configuration
The System Administrator can enable Auto Lockout.
To enable the Auto Lockout set Enable Auto Lockout to Yes. Enabling this setting will automatically lock user accounts after a number of consecutive failed login attempts.
The Auto Lockout Threshold is the number of failed login attempts after which user accounts should be locked.
Inactivity Logout Configuration
The System Administrator can enable Inactivity Logout.
To enable the Inactivity Logout set Logout Inactive Users to Yes. Enabling this setting will automatically log out inactive users.
The Inactivity Threshold is the number of minutes after which an inactive user will be logged out
