Catalyst On Demand: claiming a license

If you have a Catalyst free, Catalyst 10, Catalyst 30, or Catalyst 60 license, a Catalyst On-demand section displays, enabling you to claim a Catalyst On-demand license directly in TerraFlex.

To claim a Catalyst On-demand license in TerraFlex:

  1. You must have TerraFlex version 2025.20 or later and Trimble Mobile Manager version 2025.13 or later installed on your device. You can download Trimble Mobile Manager from the Google Play or Apple App stores.

  2. You must be signed in to TerraFlex and Trimble Mobile Manager with the same Trimble ID for this to work correctly. If a you are signed into TerraFlex and Trimble Mobile Manager with different Trimble IDs, when you request to start an On-demand session in TerraFlex, the license screen in Trimble Mobile Manager opens in the different account, so when you claim an On-demand license in Trimble Mobile Manager it will be under the wrong account and you won't see it in TerraFlex when you refresh the Licenses screen.

  3. You must be online. If you are offline, the Catalyst On-demand section will not be displayed on the TerraFlexLicenses screen. Once you are online, tap Refresh licenses to show the Catalyst On-demand section on the TerraFlex Licenses screen.

Follow the steps below to request an On-demand license in TerraFlex:

  1. Tap / Licenses.

  2. The Licenses screen opens.

    • If you have a Catalyst free, Catalyst 10, Catalyst 30, or Catalyst 60 license, the Catalyst On-demand section displays. If you have an existing Catalyst 1 license then this section is not shown.

    • If Trimble Mobile Manager is not installed on the device, the Catalyst On-demand section is grayed out. A message indicates that Trimble Mobile Manager is required and a Download here link is displayed. Once downloaded and installed, the Catalyst On-demand section on the Licenses screen in TerraFlex becomes available.

  3. Tap Start in Mobile Manager to launch Trimble Mobile Manager.

    • If you have used Trimble Mobile Manager before, accepted permissions and are already signed in to Trimble Mobile Manager, the Trimble Mobile Manager license screen opens.

    • If you have used Trimble Mobile Manager before and already accepted permissions and terms and conditions but you are not signed in, the sign-in screen opens. Sign in with the same Trimble ID that you are signed into TerraFlex with; the Trimble Mobile Manager license screen opens.

    • If you have not used Trimble Mobile Manager before and have just downloaded it, Trimble Mobile Manager launches and requests the usual permissions and acceptance of the terms and conditions. On the sign-in screen, sign in with the same Trimble ID that you are signed into TerraFlex with. The Trimble Mobile Manager license screen opens.

  4. In the Trimble Mobile Manager license screen, tap Start new session, specify the session length you want to claim then tap Start. Your On-demand session will begin.

  5. Once an On-demand session has been started in Trimble Mobile Manager, return to the TerraFlex Licenses screen using any of the following methods: tap the back arrow in Trimble Mobile Manager next to the Licenses header; through app selection on both iOS and Android; use the iOS back arrow at the top left of the navigation bar.

    In the TerraFlex Licenses screen, the Catalyst On-demand section now shows the Catalyst license Catalyst 1 On Demand and a timer (as it does in Trimble Mobile Manager) displaying the remaining time in your session.

  6. If required, you can extend your On-demand session:

    1. Tap Extend in Mobile Manager. The Trimble Mobile Manager license screen opens.

    2. Enter the time you want to extend your session by, then tap Extend.

      In TerraFlex, the On-demand timer will be updated to reflect the new session length. When the On-demand session runs out, the Start session option returns, replacing the Extend option.
