Exporting data from the map workspace
You can export any collected form data from your TerraFlex project into the following file formats for use in other systems:
- CSV – This produces a ZIP file that contains the comma-separated text file (CSV) that includes the exported form data. One CSV is created for each layer that is exported.
- Esri File Geodatabase – This produces a ZIP file that contains an Esri File Geodatabase that can be viewed in Esri software.
- Shapefile – This produces a Shapefile for each layer that was exported. The Shapefile includes a .shp, .shx, .dbf, .prj, and .cpg file.
- DWG and DXF – This produces a DWG or DXF file that can be imported into CAD applications.
- KML – This produces a zipped KML file that can be viewed in Google Earth.
To export data from your project
- In Trimble Connect, open the map workspace.
- In the map viewer, click Export
. The Export data pop-up appears.
- To email the exported file, enter the Email address the exported file will be sent to.
- If required, rename the export file name in the File Name field.
-
Select the export format in the Format field.
The Coordinate System pane on the right shows the coordinate system, zone, datum and geoid that the data will be exported in. For KML files, this is always WGS 1984. For other file types, the coordinate system is the same as the map workspace you are exporting from.
-
In the Export data list, select:
-
All map workspace data to export all forms in the workspace including those already marked as exported.
-
Selected data to export only those forms which are in the current selection.
-
Visible data to export only those forms which are visible in the map viewer.
Use the Layer, Date Modified, Modified by User, and Exported filters in the map viewer to show only the forms you want to export, and then select the Visible data option to export those forms.
-
- In the Image field, select whether to include images as files or as hyperlinks.
- To tag exported forms as exported, select the Change status of data to exported check box.
- Click Export. The export file is created and is ready for download.
