Pairing and connecting a Bluetooth device with the TSC5 controller / Ranger 5 data collector

Before you can transfer data or communicate between your TSC5 controller / Ranger 5 data collector and another Bluetooth enabled device, you must pair the TSC5 controller / Ranger 5 data collector and the device.

Step 1: Pair a Bluetooth accessory

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen.

  2. Tap-hold Bluetooth .

  3. Tap Pair new device.

  4. Tap the name of the Bluetooth device you want to pair with your device.

  5. Follow any on-screen instructions. If the pairing is successful, the TSC5 controller / Ranger 5 data collector connects to the device.

If you are asked to enter a passcode or Bluetooth PIN, try entering 0000 or 1234 (the most common passcodes), or see the documentation that came with your Bluetooth device. Some old Bluetooth devices do not require a PIN.

To connect to a Bluetooth-enabled receiver with a PIN, if for any reason you cannot connect via Bluetooth, connect over Wi-Fi to configure the receiver. The IP address is in most cases 192.168.142.1. Refer to the documentation for the receiver for details and receiver specific settings.

Step 2: Connect to a Bluetooth device

After pairing with a Bluetooth device, you can connect to it manually— for example, to switch devices or to reconnect after a device comes back in range.

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen.

  2. Make sure Bluetooth is turned on.

  3. Tap-hold Bluetooth .

  4. In the list of paired devices, tap a paired but unconnected device.

When your phone and the Bluetooth device are connected, the device shows as Connected.
