About Shelf mode
Shelf mode is a low power mode and is useful when shipping the device or for long term storage. Shelf Mode puts the device into a fully shutdown mode and the batteries into a minimal power state configuration. This mode maximizes the power retention of the batteries ensuring a charge over a long period of time.
All current devices and removable batteries shipped by Trimble are shipped in Shelf mode. This means that the device or the charger that the battery is placed in must be connected with a USB cable and a power adapter into an electrical outlet to return the battery to normal operation.
To power on from Shelf mode, a power cable must be attached to the TSC710 controller and plugged into a power source. The optional removable battery can also be woken up by directly plugging it into a power supply using the USB-C cable.
To place the device in Shelf mode, Go to Settings / Battery / Shelf Mode Enable, and select OK. Alternatively, press-hold the Power key for one (1) second to open the Power menu, where there is the option to place the device in Shelf mode; when selected, the device will shut down.
NOTE – If the optional removable accessory battery pack is installed, when you put the device into Shelf mode, the battery pack is also put into the low power Shelf mode.
