Internet Base Station Service (IBSS)
-
Is it possible to configure a fixed IP Address for an IBSS in WM to share corrections with subcontractors or other customers on my projects?
The IP address of the NTRIPCaster which resides in WorksManager is not configurable. The advantage of using an IBSS is that it is not necessary. Registered devices (i.e., rovers) can connect to it without knowing the caster IP. Partnering is not yet supported, so the device connecting to the IBSS must be in the same organization. -
Can IBSS be managed through WorksManager?
Partially. Partnering accounts for sharing IBSS is not yet supported. -
TCC has been decoupled. What does this look like from the WorksManager end?
You no longer login to TCC to perform any IBSS management functions. Instead, use WorksManager for your needs. To add a base, just add the receiver device in Account > Devices in WorksManager with an iI/ password, and proceed to set up the base in the field as usual. There is no concept of ‘Managed base station’ in WorksManager. Instead, when you have rental/ sub contractor base/ rovers, and you want to use them alongside your devices, use the partnering functionality

With this migration into IBSS v2, will there be any change to remote access?
No, there is no change to remote access for field systems
-
We currently use DYNDNS for remote access via a static IP. Will this change affect the IPv4 configuration?
-
There is no change to remote access. The GNSS receivers do not have remote access integrated. Dynamic DNS, Static IP and VPNs are examples of technologies which require networking configuration to support access.
-
Can I have a GNSS base station receiver in multiple WorksManagers accounts?
-
Yes, using standard NTRIP connections. The Trimble GNSS receivers have an optimized interface for IBSS, and it shares information, organization and password, between all IBSS services. This means that you CANNOT have a device in multiple accounts using the IBSS interface. However, you can use the standard NTRIP connection to allow for a device to be in multiple accounts. The easiest way to do this is use the IBSS UI, but before clicking OK uncheck the IBSS option, which will convert it to a standard connection IBSS Mode UI: <image>
