Setting up the tripod

To set up a Gitzo Series 5 tripod:

  1. Adjust the legs on the tripod to the required height. Turn the locks on the tripod legs just enough so they can be extended equally and then tighten the locks so they are secure.

  2. Spread the tripod legs wide apart so they lock out for increased stability.

  3. Set up on a level, stable surface when possible.

  4. Ensure the tripod head is visibly level and if necessary, adjust the leg heights.

To set up a Trimble Trimax tripod:

  1. Loosen the lock screws to adjust the legs on the tripod to the required height and tighten so they are secure.

  2. Spread the tripod legs for maximum stability.

  3. Set up on a level, stable surface when possible.

  4. Ensure the tripod head is visibly level and adjust the leg heights if necessary.

TIP – It is always recommended to shield the scanner from direct sunlight and avoid uneven temperatures around the scanner. The scanner should always be set up on its tripod. Using the tripod delivered with the system guarantees maximum stability during scanning operations. Please do not put the scanner directly on the ground while scanning.
