Introduction

Trimble® announces the release of X9 firmware version 1.3.3.0077 to support the new X9 Core LT configuration. X9 Core LT provides a new entry level option with 40-meter range. This important firmware update is for all X9 scanners and includes Wi-Fi updates for Canada.

Overview

Note: Firmware version 1.3.3.0077 upgrades all X9 scanners (8990 and 8991 serial numbers). Downgrades to earlier versions will be prohibited on configurable X9 scanners with 8991 serial numbers.

Software Requirements

Trimble Perspective version 2025.20 and higher is required to ensure compatibility with firmware version 1.3.3.0077. A new version of Trimble FieldLink will be available soon to support the new X9 Core LT configuration.

Trimble® announces the release of X9 firmware version 1.3.2.0063, available from August 2025. This important firmware update supports general production improvements for all X9 scanners.

Software Requirements

Trimble recommends installing Perspective version 2025.10.2741 or greater to ensure compatibility with firmware version 1.3.1.0050. FieldLink customers should install version 7.1 or greater.

Trimble® announces the release of X9 firmware version 1.3.1.0050, available from May 2025. This important update is for all Trimble X9 3D laser scanners.

Overview

• Fix panorama issue where photos can be mismatched after internal EMC shock recovery

• Boot time accelerated by approximately 16 seconds compared to firmware version 1.1.1.0263

No Restrictions

Firmware version 1.3.1.0050 supports all X9 instruments with 8990 and 8991 serial numbers. Customers should upgrade X9 instruments running older firmware versions to benefit from the latest improvements.

Trimble recommends installing Perspective version 2025.10.2741 or greater to ensure compatibility with firmware version 1.3.1.0050. FieldLink customers should install version 7.1 or greater.

No Restrictions

Firmware version 1.1.1.0263 supports all X9 instruments with 8990 and 8991 serial numbers. Customers should upgrade X9 instruments running older firmware versions 1.1.0.0241 or 1.0.5.0392 to benefit from the latest filtering and cybersecurity updates.

Software Requirements

Trimble recommends installing Perspective version 2024.10.2609 or greater to ensure compatibility with firmware version 1.1.1.0263. FieldLink customers should install version 7.1 or greater.

Installation Restrictions

Trimble Installation Manager only permits the installation of firmware version 1.1.0.0241 on X9 instruments with 8991 serial numbers and prohibits installation on X9 instruments with 8990 serial numbers. Customers with 8990 serial numbers should upgrade to firmware version 1.0.5.0392 to ensure compatibility with the latest versions of field software.

Software Requirements

X9 customers running firmware version 1.1.0.0241 or 1.0.5.0392 should install Trimble Perspective version 2024.10.2609 or greater to ensure compatibility. FieldLink customers should install version 7.1 or greater.

Introduction

Trimble announces the release of firmware version 1.0.3.0384, available from October 2023, for the Trimble X9 3D laser scanner. The firmware update is for general improvements in production and minor bug fixes.

• Correct calibration report error at -20°C

• Fix IMU Gyro calibration reset

• Fix loading and use of IMU coarse tilt calibration values to correct rare tilt measurement errors at -20°C

Introduction

Trimble announces the release of firmware version 1.0.1.0337, available from May 2023, for the new Trimble X9 3D laser scanner. Production will install this firmware version on all new instruments for product release on May 23, 2023.
