Enhanced Security – Initialize Security

Receivers shipped from Trimble with firmware version 5.44 or later and the Enhanced Security (IoT) option installed and enabled (see Receiver Status – Options Detail) will have the Enhanced Security feature.

This supports a number of security enhancements, including improved login security. This page is displayed only once after a full reset to factory defaults has cleared the password of the ‘admin’ account.

Initialize Security

• Old Password – This is the default first-time password used to log in to the receiver after the ‘admin’ password has been cleared. You can use either password when connecting from a computer on the same LAN/WAN format as the receiver or the receiver serial number from any IP address, including from the internet.

• New Password – Enter a new password for the ‘admin’ account. The security eye icon displays/hides the characters in the password. The estimated password strength is shown to the right of the security eye icon. Passwords are rated as weak, medium, or strong. You must enter at least a medium-strength password.

• Verify New Password – Re-enter the password for confirmation.
