Connect Business subscriptions
A Trimble Connect Business subscription allows users to create more projects and synchronize data with more projects in Trimble Connect than a Trimble Connect Personal subscription.
To synchronize data with the cloud, Trimble recommends that a Trimble Connect Business subscription is assigned to all users who are using a perpetual license for the following software:
-
Trimble Access software
-
Spectra Geospatial Origin software
-
Trimble Business Center Monitoring module
For each software product listed above, a Trimble Connect Business subscription is available during the initial active Software Maintenance Agreement period and when covered by a Trimble Protected Protection plan (TPP). The Trimble Connect Business subscription must be assigned to the specific user using Trimble License Manager.
Until the Trimble Connect Business subscription is assigned to the user, then that user will have a Trimble Connect Personal subscription and can create or synchronize data only to a limited number of projects.
Trimble Connect Business subscriptions are automatically included with Trimble Access, Origin, and Trimble Business Center subscriptions. For those users no further action is needed.
Use the Hardware tab in Trimble License Manager to make sure that the initial Software Maintenance Agreement is active or a valid TPP is shown for each controller in your organization running Trimble Access or Spectra Geospatial Origin.
For each valid Software Maintenance Agreement or TPP shown in the Hardware tab, a Trimble Connect Business subscription is shown in the Licenses tab in Trimble License Manager.
Assign a Trimble Connect Business subscription to each user as required.
For more information, see Hardware and Assigning licenses.
Each TBC Monitoring module perpetual license is listed in the Licenses tab. For each valid initial Software Maintenance Agreement or TPP for TBC Monitoring, a Trimble Connect Business subscription is available in the Connect Business product tile of the same Licenses tab.
Assign a Connect Business subscription to each team member who uses the TBC Monitoring module perpetual license, so that they can synchronize data with the Trimble Connect cloud, without restriction.
For more information, see Assigning licenses.
The Connect Business subscription is available as long as the Software Maintenance Agreement or Trimble Protected Protection plan is valid or active. The end date of the Connect Business subscription matches the end date of the initial Software Maintenance Agreement or Trimble Protected Protection plan.
If the maintenance or TPP expires, some of the cloud features in the software may become unavailable and the associated Connect Business subscription will expire. If the assigned user does not have a Connect Business subscription from an alternate source, their Trimble Connect account will revert to Connect Personal features, and projects other than the first created will be locked. Connect Business features are restored when a valid TPP license is downloaded to the device (Trimble Access/Spectra Geospatial Origin) or assigned to the KeyID (TBC Monitoring module).
The License Administrator can use remove a user's Connect Business with Software Maintenance and (TPP) subscription at any time, using Trimble License Manager. In this event, if the user whose Connect Business subscription was removed does not have a Connect Business subscription from an alternate source, their Trimble Connect account will revert to Connect Personal features, and projects other than the first created will be locked.
