To update a receiver through Trimble Installation Manager
The Trimble Installation Manager for Windows software can be installed on a desktop computer, tablet or Trimble controller running the Windows operating system.
Online method
The most common way to configure the receiver is to use the online method.
Download and install Trimble Installation Manager

Go to www.trimble.com/installationmanager and select the TIM for Windows tab.

Scroll down to the Installing the Trimble Installation Manager section and click the link to download the installation file to your computer. Most users should select the Online link to download the version of the software that connects to the Internet.

Double-click the installation file to install it.
Updating a receiver

Start Trimble Installation Manager.
Trimble Installation Manager automatically connects to the Internet, updates itself if required and then checks for available updates for the connected device.

Connect the receiver to the computer or tablet using the appropriate cable. The connected receiver appears as a COM port.

Turn on the receiver.

If the receiver icon is not automatically selected in the navigation bar, tap the receiver icon and then tap Connect.

If required, select the serial port on the computer that the cable is connected to and then tap OK.

In the Install updates tab, select the items to install. The color of an item indicates its installation status.
If settings have been configured for the radio by your Trimble distributor, the Receiver radio check box is available.

Tap Install.

Tap Finish.

Offline method
Another way to load a configuration into the receiver is the offline method. You can create an offline installation of Trimble Installation Manager and install it locally. Use the local version of Trimble Installation Manager to install receiver firmware to devices without connecting to the Internet.
Only those devices that have had their licenses downloaded can be updated offline. The device must be entitled to the version of software you have downloaded.

To update a receiver through the web interface

Connect to the receiver through its IP address in a web browser.

From the menu, select Firmware / FM Upgrade Check. The Check for Firmware Upgrades screen appears.

Click Check for new firmware now.

If there is firmware available, download it.

Select Firmware / Install.

Browse for the latest firmware file and click Install New Firmware.
